Whatbird is a practical bird identification tool for anyone interested in identifying birds in New Zealand and paricularly good as a visual identifyer for students. Observe a bird — what is it? — hop on to what bird and scroll through. Whatbird currently includes 51 exotic and native bird species that are likely to be encountered in and around New Zealand forests, gardens, bush and urban areas.
